The Good Neighbor program by Community Weaving America requests basic information like preferred method of contact. Once you're registered, you can add and/or seek other "Good Neighbor's" listed skills, equipment, and life experiences overcoming certain challenges -- these lists are open ended and become part of the "Resource Treasure Box".
This program proved useful in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and similar events.
Community Weavers has been making its way across the nation, community by community. The time has come, however, for statewide implementation. Starting with the State of Illinois, several other states have been selected for a 10 site project, as this program is headed towards becoming an Evidence Based Practice.
