What is this you may ask??? Well "community weaving" is going to revolutionize community based supports and improve the lives of our communities, families and nation. Simply put, this is a directory of "good neighbors" that will be connected with one another to improve the lives of each other. This will bring small town america back again. I don't know about you all, but I remember the day when we knew our neighbors by first name and were there as supports for each other. The economic challenges our country is having makes this the perfect time to sign up as a good neighbor and begin to help OFSN connect people with community weaving! check it out at: http://www.goodneighbors.net/  I became a good neighbor today and joined Kris Anderson and Laura Rose!  you can also e-mail us at communityweavers@ofsn.org

When you join us as a "Good Neighbor" you can also join the OFSN group so we can network together across the state!

The Good Neighbor program by Community Weaving America requests basic information like preferred method of contact.  Once you're registered, you can add and/or seek other "Good Neighbor's" listed skills, equipment, and life experiences overcoming certain challenges -- these lists are open ended and become part of the "Resource Treasure Box".

This program proved useful in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and similar events.

Community Weavers has been making its way across the nation, community by community.  The time has come, however, for statewide implementation.  Starting with the State of Illinois, several other states have been selected for a 10 site project, as this program is headed towards becoming an Evidence Based Practice.

Visionary and director, Cheryl Honey, acknowledges the tremendous resourcefulness of individuals and family members who survive with limited income, overcome life's challenges, keep pressing on, seek to build social supports and a safety net at the neighborhood, community and global level.

Please take 5 minutes and sign-up today!  Take a look at who's already registered in Oregon!   Contact us if you need assistance.
