BE THE SUPPORT FAMILIES NEED
Oregon Family Support Network (OFSN) thrives because of dedicated volunteers who share our passion for supporting families raising children with behavioral, emotional, or mental health challenges.
By volunteering with OFSN, you can make a meaningful impact in the lives of families across Oregon. Whether you have lived experience as a parent or caregiver, professional expertise, or simply a desire to help, there are many ways to get involved. Volunteers play a vital role in connecting families with resources, assisting with events, and advocating for a stronger, more supportive community.
Your time and effort help ensure that families have the support they need to navigate complex systems and access the right services. Join us in making a difference—because when families thrive, communities grow stronger.
OFSN volunteers play a vital role in supporting families by bridging the gap between caregivers, community resources, and behavioral health professionals. As a volunteer, you can help empower families by:
-
Assisting with event planning and coordination to create welcoming spaces where families can connect, learn, and access valuable resources.
-
Supporting families by facilitating community-based support groups and providing respite support, creating safe spaces for connection, shared experiences, and encouragement.
-
Providing translation support to help families navigate resources and access the support they need.
-
Supporting training efforts to equip families with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate resources and make informed decisions about available support and services.
Your time and dedication can make a real difference for families navigating complex systems. Join us in supporting Oregon families—volunteer with OFSN today!
EVENT PREP and SUPPORT
Volunteers at OFSN play a key role in event preparation, logistics, and providing on-site support to ensure everything runs smoothly. From helping with the setup and organization of materials to assisting with registration and managing event flow, volunteers are essential in creating a welcoming and efficient experience for families and participants. Your time and efforts directly contribute to the success of each event, helping families access the resources and support they need in a seamless and engaging environment. Join us in making every event a success through your volunteer support!
PARENT WARMLINE
Through our Parent Warmline, volunteers offer many different ways (phone, text, chat, discussion forum, Zoom) to connect with our community of parents who have faced challenges similar to yours while raising children with complex needs. Our dedicated volunteers are trained and available to talk with you, parent to parent, providing support and sharing their experiences to help you feel understood and empowered.
SUPPORT GROUPS
Volunteers play a vital role in supporting respite and support groups, offering families the chance to connect, share experiences, and access resources in a supportive environment. Volunteers assist in facilitating these groups, helping to create a safe and welcoming space for caregivers to recharge and receive peer support. In addition, volunteers provide essential translation services, ensuring that language barriers do not prevent families from fully participating and benefiting from these valuable opportunities. Whether you’re helping run a support group, offering respite care, or providing translation support, your contributions help make these services accessible and meaningful to families across Oregon.
