Advocacy and Policy Academy for Parents
Perfect for a families and caregivers.
Through seven dynamic sessions, parents and caregivers will build skills, confidence, and connection through storytelling, education, and action. Learn how Oregon’s child-serving systems work, how to strategically share your story, and how to take meaningful steps toward systems change. Sessions 1-6 are virtual, with the last session in-person.

The Collaborative Problem Solving™ approach is an evidence-based method for managing challenging behavior that promotes the understanding that challenging kids lack the skill-not the will-to behave; specifically, skills related to problem-solving, flexibility and frustration tolerance.
Documentation for the Workforce
Perfect for a families and caregivers.
This training takes a deeper dive into the role and practice of documentation for Family Support Specialists. It will cover the Oregon State requirements, as well as the FSS workforce best practices. Documentation is telling a story of the work that FSS movement is doing to support families. Learn through a combination of discussion and practice, and individuals will build their knowledge and skills in completing necessary documentation components while adhering to the FSS professional role.

Ethics, Boundaries, and Responsibilities

In this training, participants will explore professional ethics for Family Support Specialists and the distinction between personal and professional boundaries. The session will cover why both types of boundaries matter, how they support healthy relationships with families, and how to recognize when one begins to cross into the other in day-to-day practice.
Family Led Crisis Planning for Families

This training explores how lived experience shapes holistic crisis planning across all life domains. Through group discussion and practical tools, we’ll guide you in shifting from system-led to family-led crisis planning, empowering families to take the lead in their own crisis management.
